(6408) Soil creep, or Solifluxion
The slow movement, usually over relatively short distances, of a mass of soil acting primarily under the force of gravity, but facilitated by saturation with water and by alternate freezing and thawing. The term is usually applied to such a phenomenon when it is much slower and smaller in magnitude and extent than a landslide.
